Keys to Success in Using JAD
Here are the keys to success in using JAD:
Use an experienced JAD leader to conduct the JAD sessions.
Be sure that an executive sponsor is committed to the JAD process.
Have key participants attend the JAD sessions—full-time.
Hold the workshops off-site, with no telephone and no interruptions. Have participants keep their evenings clear for the duration of the session.
Prepare participants thoroughly; be sure they understand the JAD process and the specific objectives of the JAD session.
Set realistic end-user expectations for the work to be done after JAD design.
Follow up JAD design with an incremental lifecycle model.
