Blocks Versus Wblocks
Blocks can be defined with two separate commands: Block or Wblock. The Block command creates a local block definition. This means the block can be inserted only into the current drawing file. The Wblock command creates a global block definition, which means the wblock can be inserted into any drawing file. The Wblock command actually creates a separate drawing file with a .dwg extension. Which block type you want to create depends on the intended purpose for the block object.
