Editing and Redefining Blocks Using Refedit

One of the great advantages of using blocks is that if a change is made to the block definition, every instance of that block in the drawing is updated. An example of when this could save a considerable amount of time is when a particular block reference changes during the life of a project. If a block has changed, a block definition can be modified and all block references in the drawing can be globally updated. The Refedit command allows you make minor changes to block definitions from within the current drawing.

Type Refedit at the command line or choose In-place Xref and Block Edit, Edit Reference from the Modify pull-down menu. Then select the block you want to edit. The Reference Edit dialog box ...
