When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Opening Files of Different Types
Word recognizes and can open files created in a wide variety of other programs including, but not limited to: OpenDocument, WordPerfect, PDF (Portable Document Format), Microsoft Works, Text Files, Rich Text Format, XML, and web pages. You can also select a format option to help you Recover Text from any File. When you open a document that was created in an older version of Word, Word opens it automatically into the current version. When you open a PDF document, Word asks you to convert it to an editable document. The resulting document is optimized using PDF Reflow (New!) to allow you to edit the text.
Open a File in a Non-Word Format
Click the File tab, and then click Open.
Click Computer.
