Communicating Online with Lync

Microsoft Lync (New!) is an instant messaging program that allows you to send and receive instant messages, hold video chats, and share files. Lync uses a SharePoint or Office 365 site as the host location for the online communication. Before you can use Lync, you need to sign-in to the online site. During the conversation, you can send instant messages, make a call, start/stop video, present content, such as your desktop, a program, a PowerPoint presentation, a whiteboard, polls, or notes from OneNote, or invite and work with participants. If not everyone is able to attend, you can also record the session to play it back later. You can manage the recording with the Lync Recording Manager tool (New!).
