Filtering Chart Data

Instead of using the Select Data Source dialog box to make changes to the data series in a chart, you can quickly filter chart data and category names with the Chart Filters button. With the Chart Filters button (New!) (one of three) in the upper-right corner of the selected chart, you can specify what data points and label names you want to appear on the chart. The Chart Filters menu allows you to quickly preview filter changes to data series and categories, apply filter changes, change the data series range, and open the Select Data Source dialog box to make additional data changes.

Filter the Chart Data and Category Names

Select the chart you want to modify.

Click the Design tab under Chart Tools.
