High dynamic range (HDR) refers to the newly
extended luminance and contrast range of television
displays, to the maximum and minimum amount
of light the television display is capable of produc-
ing. High dynamic range video displays brighter
whites, darker blacks, and more vivid colors that
more closely resemble human visual perception.
