With these charts exposed this way, a cinema-
tographer can go into a color correction suite and
attempt to correct over- and underexposures to
compare the results to the normal exposure side-
by-side. Lifting the underexposed charts up will
reveal the noise oor of the camera, and will show
the consequences of using color correction to lift
darker areas of a frame. Similarly, by darkening
the overexposed frames, the cinematographer can
reveal where highlight clipping occurs and adjust
his or her ISO and exposure strategy so as not
to unintentionally clip highlights for any given
camera.
