It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Digital cinema cameras offer many modes to
record images with a LOG encoding. ARRI has
LOG-C, Canon has C-Log, SONY has S-Log,
Panasonic has V Log, RED has REDLOG, there
are endless avors of log encoding. Each of these
encoding schemes has been designed to preserve
as much color and contrast information as pos-
sible from a specic sensor and make it easily
accessible during color correction.
