The cinematographer can use the same coun-
terintuitive exposure strategy to protect against
underexposure and highlight clipping. By raising
the ISO on an already bright scene and exposing
for the brighter image displayed from the viewing
output, the cinematographer stops down so that
less light is received, protecting highlights. In a
brightly lit scene, if too much light is received,
otherwise continuous tones hit a digital wall and
clip. Increase the ISO rating and the solution
