Anamorphic lenses have two no-parallax

points, one in the vertical axis and one in the

horizontal axis. By design, the two no-paral-

lax points cannot exist in the same place. A

50mm 2:1 squeeze anamorphic lens is only a

50mm lens in the vertical axis; it is actually a

25mm in the horizontal axis because the 2:1

squeeze element only affects the image in the

horizontal axis. As one might imagine, the

task of reverse engineering the optics in an

anamorphic lens for the purpose of adding 3D

objects into a panning, tilting, rolling, dolly-

ing shot in a CGI environment can be very

very difficult!
