SxS cards are a ash memory card ExpressCard

standard record media. According to Sandisk

and SONY, the cards have transfer rates of 800

Mbits/second and burst transfer rate of up to

2.5 Gbits/second. SONY uses these cards as

the storage media for the XDCAM EX line

of cameras, and ARRI use SxS Pro cards for

their onboard Pro Res compressed recording

solution.

The XDCAM EX series of cameras originally

adopted the SxS memory card as its recording

media. This is an ultra-compact nonlinear medium
