What is Microsoft Azure?

While attending a webinar on Microsoft Azure, I requested a short description of Microsoft Azure from my host. Here is the response that I received:

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through Microsoft-managed data centers. It is a collection of these services to cover a wide range of technology needs.
