Writing the edge code

For this step, we will use an external library to read temperature data from a DHT11 temperature sensor. We will then write four of our own classes and upload the code to the LoPy/LoPy 4 microcontroller. The following are required for this step:

  • Pycom LoPy/LoPy 4 microcontroller
  • DHT11 temperature sensor
  • FTDI adapter or Pycom expansion board
  • Antenna pig tail and antenna
  • Breadboard and jumpers
  • Atom IDE with Pycom package
  • USB cable

We will start by connecting the temperature sensor before creating the files for the edge device.
