Downloading and flashing Stretch
The main downloads section from the Raspberry Pi website provides a link to download the latest version of the Raspbian operating system. Since we require an older version, we need to download it from a separate Uniform Resource Locator (URL). We then need to flash the operating system files onto a micro SD card before installing it onto our Raspberry Pi.
Follow these steps to install Stretch onto a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B/B+:
- Using a browser on your computer, navigate to http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/images/.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and find the raspbian-2019-04-09 folder. Refer to the following screenshot:
