Installing MicroPython on an ESP32
With a uPyCraft IDE, we can install MicroPython on an ESP32. We can also access REPL and run commands. The installation of uPyCraft is beyond the scope of this book. However, you can find the files and instructions on how to install uPyCraft at https://github.com/DFRobot/uPyCraft.
Once you have uPyCraft installed on your computer, perform the following steps to install MicroPython:
- Connect an ESP32 microcontroller to your computer using the appropriate USB cable (for my tests, I used the Lolin32 v1.0.0 microcontroller).
- Open up the uPyCraft program and navigate to Tools | Serial and select the port that your ESP32 microcontroller is connected to (for my microcontroller, this is COM7):
