If you drag and drop an email from the list within Mail onto a Notes window, sticky note, or TextEdit window, it’ll automatically create a text link that—when clicked—will open the email for viewing.
However, bear in mind that, when doing this, you’re merely creating a link. You aren’t copying the mail’s contents into the document, sticky note, or note. Therefore, if you send the document to another person, the link will be useless and will result in a nasty error message when that person clicks it.
