If you download and install printer drivers from a manufacturer’s site, you might find that they come with bundled software that you don’t need, such as programs that warn you about low ink levels. There’s no need for this on a Mac because the feature is already built in—just open System Preferences, then click Print & Scan, and finally click the Options & Supplies button for the printer you’re interested in. Click the Supply Levels tab in the dialog box that opens.
