I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

With recent releases of OS X, Apple made a break from years of computing development. As just one example, Apple deactivated key repeat in favor of a method of inserting accented or non-English characters (see Tip 114, Type Symbols and Diacritical Characters).
This technique of inserting foreign or accented characters works only in a handful of applications, including built-in Apple apps such as Mail, Safari, and TextEdit. In other apps, holding down a key does nothing.
If you find this feature annoying, it can be turned off so that keys will repeat in the standard way when held down. To do so, open Terminal (open Finder, select Applications, and then double-click Terminal within the Utilities folder), and type ...
