It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

If you want to simply double-click an app icon to open a website on your desktop, avoiding a full-blown browser, this tip is for you. Here are the steps to turn a website into an app:

Start the Automator app. It’s located in the Applications list in Finder.

In the document chooser that appears when Automator starts, double-click the Application icon—its icon is a robot. If this doesn’t appear, click File→New.
