Here’s a nice trick for anybody who emails the same person frequently and would like to create a desktop shortcut that, when double-clicked, will instantly create a new message addressed to that individual.
The shortcut doesn’t have to live on the desktop. You could create a folder full of these email shortcuts and access them via Finder, or you could click and drag them to the top of a Finder window to create a one-click shortcut.
If you’re able to locate the address in the Contacts app (open Finder, select the Applications list, and then double-click Contacts) or a web/text document, just highlight it as if you’re about to copy it for pasting elsewhere, except then ...
