Despite its name, QuickTime Player can help if you want to record a movie of yourself using your Mac’s built-in camera and if you want to create a screencast (that is, a movie of what you’re doing on-screen). You can also create audio podcasts using QuickTime Player.
Just start the application (open Finder, select Applications, and then double-click QuickTime Player), and click File→New Movie Recording, New Audio Recording, or New Screen Recording, depending on what you want to do.
