In addition to turning your Macintosh on or off automatically, you can make your Macintosh automatically load your favorite programs when it turns on. Here's how:
Right-click a program icon on the Dock (or point to a program icon on the Dock and hold down the left mouse button) to reveal a shortcut menu, as shown in Figure 1-7.
Select Options ▸ Open at Login. Now this program will load automatically whether you turn your Macintosh on manually or schedule it to turn itself on automatically.
If you create additional accounts on your Macintosh (see Project 16), your programs won't load automatically until you log in to your account.
