Storing Names and Birthdays in the Address Book

You can use the Address Book to store the names, addresses, phone numbers, and other information about people, including their birthdays. To do so, you first tell Address Book that you want to store birthdays, and then you type the names and birthdays.

  1. Start the Address Book program. (If the Address Book icon isn't on the Dock, double-click the Address Book icon in the Applications folder.)

  2. Select Address BookPreferences. A Preferences window appears.

  3. Click the Template icon. The Template window appears, as shown in Figure 21-1.

    The Template window defines the type of information to store in your Address Book.
