You can cram hundreds of songs, or digital audio files, on a single hard disk. But before you can play any of these digital audio files in iTunes, you'll first have to import them into iTunes. Importing simply stores your digital audio files in an iTunes folder so the iTunes program can find them again.
Here's how to import digital audio files into iTunes:
Start the iTunes program. To do so, click the iTunes icon on the Dock or double-click the iTunes icon in the Applications folder.
Insert the device that contains the digital audio files (such as a USB flash drive or data CD/DVD) in your Macintosh.
Select File ▸ Add To Library. An Add To Library window appears, as shown in Figure 22-2.
