Peeking Inside a File

The Finder window can show you where your files are located. If you want to see the contents inside your files, you could double-click a file to open it, but a faster method is to use the Quick Look feature.

The Quick Look feature lets you peek at a file's contents without having to start a program. To use the Quick Look feature, click a filename and then do one of the following:

  • Click the Quick Look button (it looks like an eye in the top of the Finder window).

  • Press -Y.

  • Select FileQuick Look.

  • Right-click a filename and select Quick Look.
