Opening a File
Sometimes you need to open or access a file on your Macintosh for an event such as a presentation for a business meeting or a form for your child's Little League practice. If you need to open a file for an upcoming event, your Macintosh can open the file for you so that you can view, edit, or print that file before the event.
Your reminder can both start programs and open documents. The program will start or the document will open in a program, such as a word processor.
Here's how to set an alarm that opens a file:
Start iCal.
Click the calendar (Home or Work) that contains the event about which you want your Macintosh to remind you.
