After you've defined the type of digital audio file format to use and the audio quality you want, you can start ripping your songs. When you rip a song from an audio CD with iTunes, your song is imported, or stored as a digital audio file in the iTunes library folder. Later, you can use iTunes to play your songs on your Mac.
Here's how to rip your favorite songs:
Insert an audio CD into your Macintosh. The iTunes program should load and may display a dialog asking if you want to import all the songs of the entire CD into your iTunes library.
