Chapter 51. Ejecting Stuck CDs or DVDs

On older computers, you loaded a CD or DVD by opening a CD/DVD tray, dropping your disc in that tray, and sliding the tray back into your computer. The latest Macintosh computers have eliminated the tray and now let you load a CD or DVD just by sliding the disc into a slot. While this requires fewer moving parts (and fewer parts that could break), the biggest disadvantage of the CD/DVD slot is that sometimes the disc can get stuck inside your computer with no physical way of yanking it back out again. (The old CD/DVD trays could sometimes be forced open to retrieve a stuck disc.)
