Including important features on your e-book’s sales page
Designing your sales page to attract readers
A sales page is simply a web page that has the role of selling your e-book. Sometimes, you hear sales pages called landing pages or even sales letters. They act as brochures for your e-book — brochures that are available all over the world, at any time of the day or night.
If you’ve written a nonfiction e-book, your sales page is a crucial tool in persuading readers to buy it. A fiction e-book may not need a specific page devoted to selling it, but you can use similar elements on other pages of your website.
In this chapter, I explain the reasons that sales pages work to sell your e-book — and I debunk common myths and misunderstandings. I describe the critical elements that your sales page needs, and help you design and craft an effective sales page for your e-book.
