Windows NT Disk Administrator

Windows NT doesn't ship with a utility called FDISK. Instead, it uses Disk Administrator, which is available to the Administrator user under the Start, Programs, Administrative Tools (Common) menu. Disk Administrator possesses several changes compared to the older FDISK utility:

• Graphical user interface (GUI)— Figure 6.4 shows Disk Administrator's main window, which presents a view of all disks' partitions. You can adjust various aspects of the display by selecting items under the Options menu.

• Delayed changes— Instead of making changes immediately, they're held until you exit from the utility or select Partition, Commit Changes Now. Holding changes adds some degree of safety to the process.
