I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Linux's FFS Support
Linux includes support for the FFS of BSD versions of UNIX. Under Linux, this support comes by specifying a type code of ufs. You need kernel support for UFS to use this feature, and you probably also need kernel support for the BSD partition table, or possibly some other OS's partitioning scheme if you intend to place a hard disk from such a system in your computer and read it.
Caution
If your BSD partition has a lower partition number than that of your extended partition, the BSD partition numbers will usurp the numbers used by the extended partition, thus pushing those numbers up. You can adjust any partition identifiers that are so affected in /etc/fstab, but you must be aware of and plan for this eventuality. Also, if ...
