The Upgrade Process
Performing a hardware upgrade on a multi-OS computer can be quite an adventure. Unless the upgrade is to some device that requires no unusual drivers (such as a keyboard), you must normally perform several steps:
Research driver availability for all your OSs.
Obtain drivers for all your OSs. These might come with the hardware.
Uninstall existing drivers or change drivers to generic drivers that work with any device of a type, such as plain VGA for video cards. You must perform this step in every OS you run.
Swap out the old hardware for the new hardware.
Install the new drivers. You must perform this step in every OS.
