Using file and printer sharing across two or more computers can be a very useful way to integrate your computing resources across OSs. You can use a server computer running a single OS to provide services to one or more additional computers running an assortment of other OSs. For example, you can configure a Linux computer with several file-sharing protocols and use it to access StarOffice files from another computer or computers that boot Linux, Solaris, Windows, and OS/2. You can then work on the same data files in all four OSs and print those files to the same printers.
