Windows NT's NTFS
The New Technology Filesystem (NTFS) is Microsoft's favored advanced filesystem. Aside from FAT, NTFS is the only hard disk filesystem natively supported by Windows NT since version 4.0, although earlier versions of Windows NT supported HPFS in addition to FAT and NTFS. Windows 2000 adds several features to its NTFS support, requiring on-disk changes to the filesystem.

If you want to run a computer that contains both Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0, you must install Service Pack 4 or later for the latter OS, to enable Windows NT 4.0 to cope with the changes to NTFS imposed by Windows 2000. These modifications are referred to as NTFS 5.0. ...
