Use cases in construction

At the time of writing this book, many construction companies were just beginning to realize the benefits possible from IIoT. Some of the major use cases envisioned included the following areas:

• Construction operations: Match nearest crews, equipment, and tools to tasks
• Optimal tools performance: Automatically adjust tools (for example, speed and torque) to the task at hand
• Safety: Determine potential problems remotely, including the time that crew are on-duty (beyond normal working hours) and crew locations
