The choice of an architecture pattern drives many of the deployment problems. Edge devices must be secure, wired networks need to be installed. Wireless systems require certain levels of signal strength and reliability. While Ethernet and wireless deployments are well-established technologies, IIoT topologies can present new challenges, that is, the more reliable mesh networks are more difficult to integrate into the network.
