Aer all team members add their sticky notes to the wall, the facilita-
tor directs them to group similar items on another wall. Team members
may move items into existing groups or create new ones. Up to now, we
permit no discussion, since it is oen counterproductive when we attempt
to interact without moving toward conformity of opinion. We nish this
stage once we group all of the sticky notes.
We mentioned using two colors of sticky notes. e second color pro-
vides headings for each group; if we use more colors, we can do likewise.
Oen, the more concise we make the name on the note, the better. Each
team member should read every group sticky note and every group name.
