So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
BGP “SPEAKERS”
BGP uses the concept of a speaker to advertise routing information. The speaker resides in the router. Using a common set of policies (routing agreements, described shortly), the BGP speakers arrive at an agreement as to which AS border routers will serve as exit/entry points for particular networks outside the AS. This information is communicated to the AS's internal routers, via the interior routing protocol, or with manual configurations.
Connections between BGP speakers of different ASs are called external links. BGP connections between BGP speakers within the same AS are called internal links. A peer in a different AS is referred to as an external peer, and a peer in the same AS is described as an internal peer.
