So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
COMMUNITIES
BGP can be set up to distribute routing information on a group of destinations (networks) called communities. The idea is to be able to group destinations into these communities and apply routing policies to a community. This approach simplifies the speaker's job by aggregating routing information. It also provides a tool for the network manager to control the dissemination of routing information.
The BGP community operation offers considerable flexibility. For example, a destination can belong to multiple communities, and the AS network manager can define the community to which a destination belongs. Given that one belongs or does not belong to a community, BGP will or will not support the distribution of routing information.
