I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The IP routing protocols are the sextants of the Internet. The chief use of the sextant is in navigation, and it enables a person to determine his or her location on earth. In so doing, the sextant provides a means for this person to discover routes, perhaps through uncharted terrain.
The chief use of the IP routing protocols is the same as the sextant: to discover routes, except these routes are through an internet terrain.
One of my favorite stories about the sextant is its use in the Lewis and Clark expedition in the early 1800s, and its contribution to the mapping of a large part of the northwestern United States. A wonderful book on this adventure is Undaunted Courage, by Stephen E. Ambrose.
