I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
RATIONALE FOR PNNI
One can reasonably ask why yet another set of specifications is required to define another protocol in the ATM environment. Indeed, for the ATM network manager, or the user of the ATM equipment, the proliferation of new specifications creates more complexity in a network.
But PNNI is published for a very good reason. The ITU-T is the “authoritative” standards body for ATM, but does not concern itself with the operations of private networks. (From the ITU-T perspective, the Internet is considered to be a private network.) Additionally, the ITU-T does not concern itself with the distribution of routing information, route discovery nor topology analysis (except for some of the newer SS7 protocols).
