It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

There is not a lot of information on PNNI. I refer you to the footnotes in this chapter for some excellent papers on the subject. As I have said before, there is no substitute for reading the actual specification, and for PNNI (383 pages), set aside a lot of time.
