Observation

As simple as it sounds, observation might be a very useful technique for gathering information about a target. A social engineer, after identifying a target, might choose to observe their daily routines in order to find chances for exploitation. For example, the attacker might be able to gather information such as the time the target goes to sleep, wakes up time, their morning routine, path taken to work, verification at entry points of the target's workplace, the time the target leaves for lunch, the time the target goes back home, and the target's favorite joints. By gathering all this information, the social engineer will be at a better point to strike a conversation with the target and build a rapport so as to place the target ...
