At times, social engineers will force the creation of a certain pretext in order to take advantage of a user. One of these ways is retending to be from the customer support of a major company that has millions of users that is responding to a query asked. They could pretend to be from Gmail, PayPal, or the IRS, among other organization that generally have lots of traffic and almost everyone has an account with them. When they target a user, they pretend to be offering an opportunity from which one can get a free service or product.
