I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Controlling the target's environment
The second listed use of manipulation was to control a target's environment. To control a target's environment, a social engineer needs to be in it in the first place. Therefore, if the attack is online, the social engineer needs to get into the target's social media platforms, befriend them, and be in some sort of communication with them. A social engineer will take time and will definitely not rush to carry out the final blow after the target gets close to him or her. A fake relationship will be built first but it will feel authentic to the target.
