Hand gestures are commonly used in speech to paint pictures. It is believed that a lying person touches or rubs his or her face quite often. Other pointers to check on are changes in hand gesture frequencies, speed, and duration. Again these are delay tactics to allow one to fabricate an answer. Just like the previously stated cautions, this is not a clear indicator of deception.
