Elderly people are less well-informed about attacks and are often naïve. They are likely to be far off, living alone, and willing to listen to people that sound to be in need of help. Their compassion is mercilessly exploited by social engineers each year resulting in millions of dollars lost to fraudsters. Seniors are believed to have significant amounts lying idle in their accounts and if convinced, they will give it away to those that seem to be in need.
