Interview and interrogation

These two are different methods of gaining information from a target. In interviews, the target does most of the talking and leads the whole conversation while the social engineer collects the important pieces of information and asks for clarifications. In interrogation, the social engineer talks to the target about his or her statements; the social engineer directs the conversation. The target is more likely to become tense and this approach is used when the social engineer already has some information. Interviews are easy to conduct since the subject is at ease and comfortable throughout. It does not take as much skill as interrogation.
