It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Preparing the Data Sources
Next, compile and build the AdventureWorks data warehouse by completing the following steps:
- On the SQL Server 2008 machine, open c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Samples \AdventureWorks 2008 Analysis Services Project\ Enterprise (or \Standard, depending on the version of your SQL Server installation), and open the Adventure Works.sln file.
- From the Build menu, select Deploy project.
Next, create a new view in the AdventureWorksLT database by following these steps:
- Launch SQL Server Management Studio from the Programs area.
- Connect to the SQL Server instance where you installed the AdventureWorksLT database.
- In the Object Explorer, expand the databases node and then the AdventureWorksLT node.
